I'm a 30-something Japanese-American with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. However, I haven't found a job in my major (yet). 8(

I moved to the Washington, DC metro area last fall, and am working as a systems consultant for a small consulting company.

I spent 12 years as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in New York, at Waterford Rescue Squad and RPI Ambulance, so I used to not get much sleep unless it was an uneventful shift... ("Don't say the 'Q' word!!!")
[For those of you not involved with Emergency Medical Services, the word is Q-U-I-E-T]
Currently taking a break for now, although it seems they have some decent tax breaks for volunteers in MD

Hobbies and interests include, but not limited to: (in some vague order of importance)

CHOCOLATE! (and coffee!)
EMS (actually, should count as a way of life, but... ^_^)
Volunteering in general
Anime (Japanese animation)
Science fiction (unfortunately, there hasn't been much free time to read the past few years)
Gaming - strategy, board and role-playing (Star Fleet Battles, anyone?)
